Hey Old Bones! It’s the Paleontology Club
Times: Thursday 3:30-4:30

If you love fossils and dinosaurs and wonder about life long ago, this is the club for you! We will examine the fossil record, study old bones and recreate skeletons of our favorite extinct creatures.

Cookistry! It’s the Chemistry of Cooking club
Times: Monday 3:30 - 4:30 OR Tuesday 4:45 - 5:45

Do you love to eat? Have you ever wondered how bread rises or why eggs turn white or why chefs use certain spices, then join us in Cookistry! We will explore the chemistry that takes place in the kitchen.

Science News! It’s the Science Student Communication Club
Times: Thursday 4:45-5:45

A club for the 9, 10 & 11 year-old scientists who want to share Science News with the world! Learn to write blogs, and make and edit videos to share science activities and information via the Storefront Science website.

We Built this City! It’s the Structural and Civil Engineering Club (K-5)
Times: Wednesday 4:45 - 5:45

If you’ve ever wondered how cities evolved, and why buildings stand up, then join this club to explore civil and structural engineering through the streets and structures of Washington Heights.

You've Got No Backbone! It's the Vertebrates & Invertebrates Club
Times: Tuesday 3:30 - 4:30 OR Wednesday 3:30 - 4:30

If you’ve ever wondered why a snake has a backbone but a worm doesn’t, or why lobsters look like grasshoppers or how animals communicate, then this is the club for you. Join us on an exploration of the animal kingdom!

Let there be Light! It's the Electricity and Energy Club (K-5)
Times: Monday 4:45 - 5:45

If you've ever wondered how the light switch works or been interested in harnessing a new energy source for your laptop, join this club to explore electricity and energy. We'll design circuits and experiment with ways to conserve and transfer energy.

Inventors Club
Times: Tuesday evenings from 6:00 to 7:00. (181st ONLY)

If your 6th, 7th or 8th grader is looking for inspiration or a scientific outlet or to work on his/her science exit project, then register them for INVENTORS CLUB.

Early Explorers Club (ages 2,3,4)
Times: 2 & 3 year olds - Tuesday 11:00 - 11:45 OR Wednesday 11:00 - 11:45
4 year olds - Thursday 11:00 - 11:45

Storefront Science is pleased to offer classes for 2, 3, and 4 year olds. We'll do a variety of interdisciplinary science activities that build upon young children's natural curiosity.

At Storefront Science, we value the process of science. We encourage children to direct their own learning by asking questions, designing experiments, collecting data and engineering solutions. Our curricular are open-ended to allow for deep exploration. And, they are tied to National Science standards.
  • All K-5 clubs are 60 minutes.
  • All Early Explorer clubs are 45 minutes. These are for 2, 3, and 4 year olds.
  • 6th, 7th and 8th graders can join “Inventors Club” on Tuesday’s from 6:00 – 7:00.
  • Sessions are 11-12 weeks.
  • 181st Cost: $355 per club, membership and sibling discounts available. $325 for Early Explorers
  • 78th Cost: $400 per club, membership and sibling discounts available. $325 for Early Explorers
